First Speaker
Mike Webb
Dover's town centre manager, was one of two speakers at a meeting of The Dover Society on Monday evening. Mike told the audience of about 70 of the problems his organisation was having through lack of funding, especially from the two local authorities of Dover District Council and Dover Town Council.
He claimed Dover TCM was the "worst funded" in the country from local authorities.
Mike revealed TCM was changing direction away from more popularist events-such as pancake races-to the successful ShopWatch and RiverWatch projects.
He wondered if anyone had a name for the Watch on run-down properties in Dover. Not SlumWatch, he appealed. Something positive. (Any ideas?)
